The establishment of GOUR MAHAVIDYALAYA, Mangalbari, Malda began its journey in the year 1985. Nowadays 21 departments are introduced. This department of Physical Education is one of them. Physical Education is a Theoretical and Practical based subject. The department of Physical Education had been introduced in year July 2014. At that time 01(one) guest lecturer was appointed. We have an intake capacity of 60 students. The subject had been taught only as general course till now. Presently we have 03 (three) State Aided College Teachers. This department has only one classroom, a beautiful playground; a well maintain gymnasium and so many sports types of equipment are available in college.
The department of Physical Education is one of the most active and vibrant department in the Gour Mahavidyalaya. Now the college is affiliated with the University of Gour Banga, Malda. It follows and updates the Syllabus as Prescribed by the University. It is situated at the 1st floor and the classroom number is 215 over the main administrative building. So many Physical Education books are kept in the college’s main library. The students of Physical Education are taken to visit the college’s main library frequently.
