*The Department Of History,Gour Mahavidyalaya, started its journey since 1985.

*The Department offers ‘General’ and ‘Honours’ courses .

*CBCS has been introduced since 2019-20.

*The objective of this Course is to prepare the students with a new vision to all the

Under Graduate courses of History. It imbibes a Learning Outcome-based Curriculum

Framework .As per changing times, the other core papers have also been remodeled

with introduction of a newspaper like ‘Cultural heritage of India’ with a view to

develop skill at undergraduate level as per spirit and design of LoCF guidelines. .

The course helps Students to develop the skills of critical thinking, rational enquiry,

effective communication, and exploring the relationship between the past and the

present .The Course also encourages them to develop the attitude of respect for our

Nation, Heritage and culture and understand the strength of diversity of our country.

*The Department maintains a small library for meeting the special demands of

students.

*Students participate in Study Tour , prepare Project Work, Wall magazine, Online

Magazine, and organise cultural programmes, re-union. Students also organise

Seminar,Exhibition and participate in Outreach Programmes. The outreach

programmes help to develop among themselves a sense of social and civic

responsibility, and competence required for group-living and sharing of

responsibilities.

*Alumni of the Department are well placed in schools, colleges and various

government jobs.
